Contemporary solos commissioned by Frans Brüggen & Walter van Hauwe

Walter van Hauwe will teach four masterclasses of 45 minutes each. The lessons are open to advanced young players and professionals wishing to gain advice on the performance of contemporary solo music written for Walter van Hauwe and Frans Brüggen.

Dutch blockflute player and teacher Walter van Hauwe in an internationally renowned soloist and founding member of Sour Cream, Quadro Hotteterre and Little Consort, besides collaborating with marimba player Keiko Abe, the Maarten Altena Ensemble and theatre groups Hollandia and Veenfabriek. Between 1972 and 2013 Walter taught the recorder at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. His technical and pedagogic research of the instrument crystallised in the three-volume professional method The Modern Recorder Player.
