ORDA-2019 offers masterclasses for soloists of all ages.
Before applying for the masterclasses, please double check the repertoire, age and level requirements.
Applications will be processed in order of arrival. Due to the great demand, each individual applicant can only participate actively in one masterclass.
Please bear in mind that ORDA competitors are not allowed to get coaching on their competition repertoire at the festival masterclasses.
Historical improvisation and diminution – Vicente Parrilla
Four masterclasses of 30 minutes for advanced or (pre)professional recorder players, fully focused on the art of diminution in the Renaissance. Participants are welcome to present their own improvisations or pre-composed divisions on 16th-century polyphonic music or ground basses.
Baroque music for advanced soloists – Sébastien Marq
Five public masterclasses of 30 minutes each for advanced soloists who want to fine-tune their performance of repertoire from the baroque time.
Contemporary music commissioned by Frans Brüggen & Walter van Hauwe
Walter van Hauwe
Walter van Hauwe will teach four masterclasses of 45 minutes each. The lessons are open to advanced young players and professionals wishing to gain advice on the performance of contemporary solo music written for Walter van Hauwe and Frans Brüggen.
